Tourism vs. Covid-19

We are all now living the new reality of Covid-19 pandemic and we are experiencing its enormous impacts. Global Tourism businesses are already at the center of a cyclone with unprecedented characteristics.

> World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has outlined the “new normal of travel” as countries begin to end Covid-19 lockdowns and ease travel restrictions.

The new protocols and standards are being defined after feedback and extensive discussions with WTTC members, as well as in collaboration with associations representing the various tourism sectors. These include: International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Airports Association International (ACI), the International Cruise Lines Association (CLIA), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the European Travel Commission (ETC) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

The new protocols

There will be new protocols for check-in, which will include digital technology, hand disinfection stations in many places (even in the luggage storage area), contactless payment instead of meters, more frequent use of stairs than elevators, where the 2-meter rule can be more difficult to maintain – even the greater distance between the equipment in the gym.

Cruise lines will take further measures to ensure ships are free of the virus, including the constant use of gloves that will be changed frequently by staff, as well as more frequent room cleaning.

Travelers at airports will be screened before they fly and during their arrival at their destination airport. Social distancing measures may be in place at the airport and during boarding, as well as the use of masks in flight. Aircraft will also be subject to intensive cleaning. These measures will be combined with the contact tracing via app for mobile.

Greek Tourism vs. Covid-19

Soon the scene will change and our country, with its record of honorable achievements in the battle against the novel coronavirus, will become a major attraction for travelers with an emphasis on health protection. This is also the new feature of the travel experience.

HiT SA vs. Covid-19

> HiT SA, with a sense of collegial solidarity, announced to its hotel customers its revised commercial policy for 2020. It also developed and already has new modules that frame its applications. Protel Hotel Software and ErmisPro Hotel Software which will facilitate the organization of the new procedures that hotels will be called upon to implement due to the pandemic.

New module for theImplementation of the PNP 13/4/2020 *

If you have computerized your hotel with Protel Hotel Software or ErmisPro Hotel Software, you can rely on the activation of Voucher Module which automates the procedures of the PNP 13/4/2020 Government Gazette 84, which dictates the following:

“ […] Articles 70 and 71 allow the issuance of a credit note valid for 18 months for amounts received by the hotel business as a down payment, guarantee, payment or in any other form from any type of domestic or foreign customer (individual, tourist business).”

With this solution, the voucher is computerized at all its stages - issuance, reservation, use and consumption - in order to reduce the time spent managing vouchers and to become a tool in the hands of the hotelier for upgrades and offers to a special category of customers.

The Voucher Module manages individual clients as well as agency-companies.
